We're always influenced by those around us, and you probably moreso, as an actress, a person intrigued by differences, by trying different characters on for size. And what's important to remember is that when you assume these roles, they aren't photocopies of originals - you add your own personality to the mix, even if ever so slightly, you alter the pattern to sew yourself a new pair of clothes. My writing reflects everything I've read and seen, dipping into Hemingway, swimming through McGahern, emerging out of Guernica and the news at 11 and beautiful designer homes on HGTV, but at the end of the day, my writing is still mine. I still have a voice - it is just in conversation with everything else.

So consider yourself in conversation.
